Default lost data on floppy disks

sponsored links

my wife saved some documents to floppy disk a few weeks ago and now when she tries to look at it a box comes up and says 'The disk in drive A isn't formatted do you want this disk formatted'.
She hasn't deleted anything on the floppy so is there anyway to view/retrieve the info thats hopefully still on it ?

its sometimes caused by faulty floppy drives or the disk itself could be damaged or. Try using a floppy disk cleaning kit.

unless the data is really important i wouldnt bother wasting time on it.

i've tried it in a different floppy drive and the same thing happens .
It was fairly important data.
i've had 3 disks like this out of 20 'Imation' floppies, maybe they're just bad disks.

try to read them on the original computer that they were written on. you have more of a chance of recovery if you do it that way

You might also try sticking something(pencil) in the hole on the bottom, then turn the disc a bit. Other than what was already posted, there's not much if anything else you can do.
