Default Messenger Service popup ads?

sponsored links

I have just reformmatted my machine with windows 2000 & for the first time I am getting popup ads all the time when I am online saying that they have been sent using Messenger Service.

The most common one tells me to go to www.byebyeads.com to buy software to stop the ads coming through, surely there must be a way I can block them from my computer.

Help me please they are driving me mad.

A detailed description of disabling the messenger service can be found in Tutorials, FAQ's, Hints & Tips for Newbies.
