Question Winrar - "Header is corrupt" error msg? FIX anybody???

sponsored links

I downloaded a bunch of rar files, even got the par files.
USed Smart par and FSRAID.
0 missing
0 corrupted
0 misnamed

However when I attempt to extract the files I get the error msg below:

Madeupfile.bin: The file "Madeupfile.bin" header is corrupt

There's no repair option in Winrar for these rar files.

Is there a way I can fix the problem...perhaps using hex editing?

Oh dear.... that is NOT good...

What version of WinRAR are you using anyway? I have version 3.00 right here, which supplies a repair option. If you have any older version, an update would worth a try.

If this does not work ... I had this going on several times, and i was never able to restore the file again. I'm afraid your file is dead...
