Default Laptop Internet question, best ISP, Access Query/Help Please

sponsored links

I live away from home and have bought a laptop. I'm thinking about getting a dial up internet connection but was wondering: If i sign up to BT Internet for example, can I connect to the internet at my mates house? my flat? my folks house? etc... just wondering as if I am restricted to a flat there is not much point me paying for it as i'm rarely there.

Also, if i sign up for bt internet and have a username and password etc, can i use this on my folks pc when i move home during the summer etc? can a isp subscription be used on my laptop and another pc, thus giving to internet connections or will this not work/be legal?

if you read this far cheers, and if you have any words of advice on good dial up ISP etc in addition to answering my queries above it would be greatly appreciated.

many thanks,

With a dial-up connection you can set it up anywhere you want on as many PCs as you like, although most ISPs will limit you to a single connection at any one time.

Now Iain - pay as you go, fine, of course you can use anywhere. Now the only one I know which will let you do what you wanna do is AOL (AOL rubbish maybe) for example Freeserve (anytime account) will only let you in on the PHONE number you have supplied them. And like darkman said single connection is obvious. Probably no help but step in right direction.
