Default playing .mov file in medi aplayer??

which codec do i need to play .mov files in windows media player?

my pc used to do it before i had to reinstall windows xp

i know .mov is a quicktime format but i prefer playing it in wmp

any idea?

There are only directshow filters/codecs for older .mov files, any newer sorenson, etc. ones will not play.

Try Media Player Classic, although you will still need to have quicktime installed or at least the codecs. Same goes for real media stuff.

Could also be possible for ffdshow to support quicktime in the future.

Isn't quicktime alternative just mpc bundled with quicktime codecs? If so and you already have quicktime installed, then you would only need mpc.
