Default Formatting a CD

I burned some music to a rewritable CD. Now, I want to format. I did following.
1. Format d:
then, it gives me the message
the type of the file system is RAW. Please use the /fs swith to specify the file system you wish to use on this volume.
2. Through the Windows explorer, I tried to delete
then, it gives mthe messsage
cannot delete track01. Files on the CD are read only. you can still copy writable CDS.

You can't delete files from a CD or DVD disk by just telling it to delete in explorer.

You use Nero or Roxio or a similar burning program, you then use the built in format utility for DVDRW or CDRW disks.
