Default playing .cda tracks

What is the best way to copy audio tracks (.cda) of an orginal music cd onto my hard drive and then play them back through windows

When i copy a .cda track of the cd to my hard drive and then try to play it media player says its not supported why??

Use this freeware CDex *********** to rip the tracks to WAVs and save on HD. CDA is only a representation of the track as Windows sees it.

I think with .cds tracks they play using the audio cable on your CDrom if you dont have it connected - it wont play.

It is possible but the problem here is, as he said above, the player doesn't recognize the "files".

I think the problem is that you are just dragging the .cda file to the hard drive. The problem being is that a .cda file isn't really a file but more of a bookmark. The reason it can't recognize is because it not an audio file.

As Van Nugent sugested, you will need to rip the audio to your hard drive in order for it to work.
