I would try this:
6-3) RESTORE RETAIL XBOX HD TO FACTORY

Once thats done ,then copy evoxdash.xbe & evox.ini & skins folder to your C drive usin Boxplorer.
Then see what happens ,that is a minimal evox install &should work.
Can you ftp into your box ?

Highcode

I've got the cable to ftp & the program but i'm struggling to get it connected. i followed the instructions on here:

***********.cdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=94958

but i'm using xp i i'm not sure how to make a new connection. If i could i'd make a backup from my original hard drive and copy them across

Thanks
