i too was worried about that noise.

ill sleep a little easier now

i also have another question. my xbox is the ONLY xbox ive played on, and none of my mates have one, so i havent been able to compare any strange noises etc.
when i finish playing a game, i press Eject. xbox splash screen appears until the tray pops out, then it goes to the menu. when i press eject again to send the tray back in, i hear the laser, as if its trying to read a disc. its not a loud noise, but noticable to paranoid ppl like me, who listen carefully for Noises. that sound happens twice, and as soon as the sound stops, the light stops flashing.

then i go to turn the xbox off. i hit the power button, and hear a little click, coming from the rear of the xbox. once again its not a very loud noise.

i got my xbox then took it to my mates on the way home to get it chipped. so i hadnt even had the xbox on to notice whether or not these sounds were occuring before the installation.
but everything works fine. music, games etc etc.

i just thought ide ask while we're on the subject, because it does concern me a little bit, but like i say, i am a very paranoid sorta person, so it could just be me.

thanks for your time.

Regards .....WR

Wired reality, don't worry about anything as long as it runs fine. Its all good. Mine does that cd spinning thing when you insert an empty disk and push the cd tray back in.
