Question a network q

hello people

if i got 25meters of network cable and 2 network cards (a kit i found for £29.99) would i be able 2 network without a HUB.

also, scenario...

1 printer is attached 2 the back of computer A and no printer is attached to computer B!! if i click print on computer B will it work??? i went to a so called expert and he said i HAVE to have a data switch!

i think hes lyin so he can get more money from me!

wot should i do people???

1, if the cable is a cross over cable then yes

2, no you don't need anything else as long as you share the printer to the network and install the drivers off the network onto the other computer

you can connect two pcs this way the only reason you need a switch or hub is if you want to add more pcs. Is your "expert" telling you you need a switch for your printer if so he is wrong when you get your network to the point where the pcs can see each other just get on the computer without the printer and go to add a new printer the first option you will get is whether the printer is local or network choose network and follow the bouncing ball
