Default Quickie: Differences between SVCDs

sponsored links

Hi all,

I have 2 dvd players

Dansai 852 (Plays everything)

Apex 600a (Plays most things)

All the SVCDs I had have lately play fine in the Dansai but I have troubles with my Apex 600a.

Eg.

Oceans 11 SVCD Dvd-Screener plays fine
Lord Of The Rings SVCD Dvd-Screener doesn't play
Iris SVCD Dvd-Screener plays fine
The Last Castle SVCD Dvd-Screener doesn't play

I've tried taking just the avseq and reburning it via Nero to a standard SVCD format but still no joy.

I used vcdgear to fix the mpeg but still the same.

Out of curiousity I took the avseq for Oceans 11 and tried to used Nero to create a standard SVCD. The mpeg was Non-Standard!!

Any ideas why some work and some don't?

The media is not to blame as it plays everything vcd/mp3 I throw at it.

Just this problem with a few SVCD titles.

Cheers

Beefy

you may wanna try just remuxing the svcd mpeg using the mpeg tools in TMPGEnc (Simple Multiplex). just load the svcd mpeg as the video and audio source/input, type in a new name for the output, select "MPEG-2 SuperVideoCD (VBR)" as the type and click run. then burn the new mpeg with nero and try it on your standalone.
