Angry Dvd Backup problem

sponsored links

Hello,

I'm apologising in advance if my question appears stupid but I'm pretty new to the world of DVD backups.

I've recently bought a Phillips DVDRW416 and am experiencing a problem. So far I have tried to back up only 1 of my own movies with no success. The problem is (I am using DVD Copy X) once the burn is completed the movie will only playback on my Pc. I appreciate I have only tried 1 disc but I couldn't see the point of wasting 10/20 discs if I can't get it to work. I have 3 different DVD players in the house and it will not work on any one of those. Presuambly there is a simple(ish) solution to my problem?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Probably the media you are using.

It could be the DVD X COPY software. Some DVD players simply won't read discs written with that program. Most likely the media though.

I've never used DVD Copy X but unless I'm mistaken, all it deals with is the creation of DVD files...it doesn't actually burn the files onto a DVD...or does it? At any rate, the problem may be with your burning program. Are you using Nero to burn? Your problem sounds like a common Nero problem...if you don't set the ISO characteristics correctly, you'll end up with a DVD that will play on a PC but NOT on a stand alone player. If you are using Nero, post a reply to this post and I'll post the correct settings.

I would suggest using dvd shrink, for disks larger than 4.3g, and dvd decrypter for discs that are 4.3g and below, dvd x copy is not ver y good in my humble opinion!
