Question DOS question (BOOTCFG) [Dell; ; winXP]

sponsored links
I've just installed a new HD and throughout the process I now have 4 different entries listed on the Selection Screen that boots before XP starts up. My default is set to the proper entry, but my question is this: How can I remove the other 3 entries so it doesn't even need to show that and will just boot "normally"?

As far as the "HELP" that's listed I can only do the following commands using BOOTCFG, but are there any "remove" commands or a way I can get the "LIST" down to just the 1 boot configuration?

TIA!!! for any help at all.

Those boot entries are stored in the boot.ini file on the root of your harddrive. You can edit it with notepad.

The alternative way in XP is to Right-click on My Computer --> Properties --> Advanced Tab --> Startup and Recovery settings --> Then click the edit button in the System startup section.
