Default How do I get files out of a damaged winrar archive?

sponsored links

I have a winrar archive file, that should have a couple of files in it, one of the files is ***.c01, there should be a .nfo file and a file_id_diz file as well. The only file I have is the ***.c01. this is the only file I need, but winrar won't let me extract it because it tells me the archive is either multipart or corrupt. I can't think of any way to get this file out. I can't simply download it again, because the link where I got it from is now broken.

Any ideas?

Try the "Repair Archive" option from the "commands" button in WinRar.

If it is any help usually RAR files are ***.r01 and ***.r49

your ***.c01 sounds like an ACE file and there are specific utils for working with these archives that may have more options to extract than what your using does.

I tried doing what you said Lazza, it let me repair the archive, but still wouldn't extract the file. I'll download winace, see if I can get it out with that.

The file is too far corrupted to repair and even if your could use the repair option and extract the file you can no longer trust it's integrity. Have you tried looking elsewhere for that archive?
