VCD is dead. Only svcd. 1 disc svcd's look way better than 2 disc vcd's. Audio is the same, bitrate is higher.

i love vcd! sure screeners and pirates are cr@p, but a dvd rip, or offical (copied) vcd is top.

i love the slight grainy ness of vcd, and the picture is fine, and its stereo, and its availble on the cheapest media, and has the cheapest and most portable players of any video media.

long live vcd (tho ikno its dead when dvd copiers are out in force...) tho im sure some dvd players will play mulitple vcds files from 1 dvdr... i hope!

any way.. on a diff note, i wanna see those dvdr that you need for GC, you could get nuff vcd (or dvd) film on there! and also what ever happened to the plans to bring out video minidisc players??? and stufff???

anyway I LOVE VCD!

DivX is a codec, not a format... What about a DVD Disc with 3 or so DVD quality DivX encoded movies complete with multiple audio and subtitle streams... original chapters and similar to original menus??

DivX is by no means dead, neither is DVD, VCD, SVCD, etc. They all have a place and their uses.
