Default !!!Slow internet!!!

when ever my computer loads up a web page it pause for about 30+ seconds before even trying to load the web page. when is loading the page the speed is fine. its the pause of doing nothing i want to get rid of.
(using internet explorer 6)

Could be a few problems with IE settings but sounds more like a dns problem. Are you running a local dns server, if so perform a flush of the cache to speed things up. If the server is ISP side then try deleting all cache and temporary internet files in windows.

If what TierraDelFuego suggested doesn't work then you could try re-pairing IE. Also make sure that you have all the patches from Winodws Update.

i always re-install IE! it always solves my probs! but i wud say that TierraDelFuego and Roger know a bit more than me! so do what they say! hehe!

Nah, you don't need to do that, a little bit of tweaking your modem does the trick for me!

Tweaking your modem:

What you have to do is find your advanced settings tab within the modem section within the control panel and enter this code:

AT&F

Once you have entered that code into the advanced setting you modem will always connect at 57,600, that will speed your internet connection up no end.
