Epson 580 printer wont work properly

I have an epson 580 printer which was working fine until recently. I have windows xp installed and i downloaded the epson 580 printer drivers for my printer. Now everytime i try to print the colours r all messed up and i have even tried printing just in black and white and the page is blank leading me to believe there is a problem with the black cartridge which is like the colour cartridge both brand new and full.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to solve my problem, is it the printer?, xp?, or even the xp drivers i installed can someone please help me as i am close to insanity.

First, I believe you already downloaded the XP driver form [url=http://support.epson.com/hardware/printer/inkjet/sc580_/index.html]here.

If both cartridges are new, try cleaning the print head.
