i get it while trying to install software sometimes, or when burning a cd to an image, both disc juggler, and cdrwin dump out saying it cant read the disc. the discs are good as i've used them in other machines. i have the latest firmware for my cd writer, and the drivers i'm using for the scsi card are from the win xp disc, as adaptec has no updated drivers at this point. could the hardware be dieing on me? the scsi card is over 2 years old, and the writer is about a year and a half. are there any settings in the BIOS i can adjust. also the scsi card is in the 3rd PCI slot. and the NIC is in the 4th. that is all i have in there. Thanks in adavance for reading this long post
