i am planning to buy this surround sound system [URL=***********.buy.com/retail/electronics/product.asp?sku=90113042](RCA RT2350) and was wondering if this is dolby digital 5.1? and do i still need the advance pack to make it 5.1 or can i just directly put the yellow, red, and white cables to the receiver to have dolby surround? and is this surround sound good or bad to purchase?

pls reply thank you

You need an optical input or coax digital input for your receiver to decode 5.1. The gamecube is not 5.1!!! it is prologic II. All Prologic II does is decode stereo sources (2.0) into 5 channels (plus a sub if you have one) but it does not designate certain sounds to each speaker like DD and DTS.

I am bringing the oldest topic BACK!!!!
I am going to buy this receiver.... Panasonic SA-HE70 (***********.empiredirect.co.uk/productdetailsnew.asp?modelcode=PAN-SAHE70&affiliateid=76#) Will this work, it does have digital input, so I guess it will....

And also, can anyone give me an idea as to what 'decent' speakers I can buy for my money? Around 120? 5.1 of course!
