Unhappy Problems With Nero

sponsored links

When I try to copy or create any CD's, I get an erro message 5%-7% in telling me that i've got a medium speed error. I don't copy on-the-fly and I've knocked the speed from 24 to 4 speed, and it stil doesnt work. Afterwards, the CD's are still blank. Can any one help me?

more info required: O/S, make & model of burner, have you been able to burn in the past?, have you successfully used that brand of media before?.
Have you reloaded the burning software or O/S recently?.

Im using
Windows XP
Nero 5.5.7.7 bundled (if that means anything?)
and all I can find out about the burner is its a (Just Link?) RW241040
I'v tried different Media, and all is brand name. Just got the PC 2 months ago. Havnt loaded any software O/S or burning wise.
I have made about 3 successful compilations or copies in the past.
Thanx Melon

First, there is a new version [url=www.nero.com]v.5.5.8.2.

Secondly, try updating your ASPI layer to [url=***********.adaptec.com/worldwide/support/drivers_by_product.html?cat=/Product/ASPI-4.70]v.4.70.

Van Nugent, I have a question for you abaout the ASPI. Since Nero uses it's own WNASPI32.DLL driver in the Nero folder, what would be the point of re-installing the Windows ASPI driver?

Well, Roger m8, from my experience, Nero own ASPI version works pretty good to avoid problems of burners not being recognized even though the drives are supported. This problem may be caused by other CD-related apps such as FantomCD, Deamon Tools. On the other hand, if the burner is seen by Nero but problems occur in the burning process, the combination of wnaspi32.dll and aspi32.sys, in many cases, will help.
