How to boot CD/DVD backups using Neo2.x

[b]NEO 2.x - Normal boot with GameShark 2[/b]

[b]NEO 2.x - DVD-r boot with GameShark 2 v1.9x[/b]

Step 1
Boot up the PS2 with the GameShark 2 or Action Replay 2 CD
Step 2
In the main menu, select Start Game
Step 3
Now select With Codes if you are going to be using cheats, or Without if you are not.
Step 4
Now you should be at the Please Insert Game Disc screen
Press Eject and swap the GS2/AR2 CD with your backup. Press Eject once done.
Step 5
GS2/AR2 1.0 - 1.3: Press X
GS2/AR2 1.4 - 1.6: Press R1 + O at exactly the same time
GS2/AR2 1.9+: Press X
[b][u]NEO 2.x - EA Method with GameShark 2[/b][/u]
Step 1
Turn on the PS2 and insert the GameShark2 or Action Replay 2 CD and turn off the PS2 for about 2 seconds.
Step 2
Press and hold the reset (untill step 4) button on the PS2 and wait for the GS2/AR2 to load. In the main menu, select Start Game
Step 3
Now select With Codes if you are going to be using cheats, or Without if you are not.
Step 4
Now you should be a the Please Insert Game Disc screen
Release Reset, the CD/DVD will eject for 4 seconds and then it will close itself. Swap the GS2/AR2 CD with your backup in this time.
Step 5
GS2/AR2 1.0 - 1.3: Press X
GS2/AR2 1.4 - 1.6: Press R1 + O at exactly the same time
GS2/AR2 1.9: Press X
[b][u]NEO 2.x - DVD-r boot with GameShark 2 v1.9x[/b][/u]
Note: You must have GS2 1.9x or AR2 1.7 - 1.9x to do this.
Step 1
Turn on the PS2 and insert the GameShark2 or Action Replay 2 CD and turn off the PS2 for about 2 seconds.
Step 2
Press and hold the reset button on the PS2 and wait for the GS2/AR2 to load to the main menu.
Step 3
Press Eject (do not release Reset untill step 5)
Insert a DVD game. It must be larger in size than the DVD-r you are going to play
Press Eject or push the CD Tray shut
Step 4
Wait 10 seconds then select Start Game and choose With Codes if you are going to be using cheats, or Without if you are not.
Step 5
Now you should be at the Please Insert Game Disc screen
Release Reset. The tray will eject for 4 seconds and then it will close itself. Swap the DVD original with your DVDr within those 4 seconds while the drive is open.
Step 6
Press X to load the DVD-r
[b][u]NEO 2.x - DVD-r boot with Gameshark 2 v2.xx[/b][/u]
Note: You must have GS2 v2.xx or AR2 v2.xx to do this.
Step 1
Turn on the PS2 and insert the GameShark2 v2.xx or Action Replay 2 v2.xx CD and turn off the PS2 for about 2 seconds.
Step 2
Press and hold the reset button on the PS2 and wait for the GS2/AR2 to load to the main menu.
Step 3
Press Eject (do not release Reset untill step 8)
Insert a DVD game. It must be larger in size than the DVD-r
Press Eject or push the CD Tray shut
Step 4
Wait 10 seconds then select Gameshark Codes
Step 5
Highlight Armored Core 2. At the bottom it should say 30 codes active, if it doesn't then and activate them.
Step 6
Hit Start on the controller.
Step 7
Hit X to select With Codes then hit X again.
Step 8
A message should have popped up saying that there are too many codes and the disc should have stopped spinning.
Release reset now and insert your DVD-r during the 4 seconds before the tray closes again.
Step 9
Hit X and you will be at the codes menu again. Hit Start once more and this time choose Without Codes (or go back and pick your codes if needed).
Step 10
You should be at the Insert game screen. Hit X to play!
[b][u]NEO 2.x - Normal boot with DVD Reigon X[/b][/u]
Step 1
Boot up the PS2 with the DVD Reigon X CD
Step 2
At the main screen where you are asked to select a reigon, press Eject and swap the DVD Reigon X CD with your backup. Press Eject once done.
Step 3
Press Start
[b][u]NEO 2.x - EA Method with DVD Reigon X[/b][/u]
Step 1
Turn on the PS2 and insert the DVD Reigon X CD and turn off the PS2 for about 2 seconds.
Step 2
Press and hold Reset on the PS2 and wait for the DVD Reigon X to load.
Step 3
At the main screen where you are asked to select a reigon, let go of reset and swap the DVD Reigon X CD with your backup before the tray closes again (4 seconds).
Step 4
Press Start
[b][u]USB Mod - Normal boot with GameShark2[/b][/u]
Notes:
If the game does not load (i.e freezes at black screen) then you may need to re-burn the game with an EA Patch applied. A good patcher is the LaPS2 Patcher. Check the Downloads area for this.
Step 1
Power on the PS2 and wait for the GS2/AR2 to load. In the main menu, select Start Game
Step 2
Now select With Codes if you are going to be using cheats, or Without if you are not.
Step 3
Now you should be at the Please Insert Game Disc screen
Press Eject and swap the GS2/AR2 CD with your backup. Now turn on the USB Modchip (usually by sliding the switch to the right position). Press Eject or push the drive to close it.
Step 4
GS2/AR2 1.0 - 1.3: Press X
GS2/AR2 1.4 - 1.6: Press R1 + O at exactly the same time
GS2/AR2 1.9+: Press X
