"System Requirements for the adapter:
PlayStation 2 Entertainment System; Phone cord or Ethernet cable; 8MB memory card for PS2; An ISP provider; Either a dial-up 56k modem connection or a Broadband connection

The Network Adapter easily connects to the PS2 by lining up it's connectors to the Expansion Bay located at the rear of the PlayStation 2 system. Gently tighten the mounting screws using a coin and you're on your way!"

Default Network Adapter FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions:
Network Adaptor
(ETHERNET/MODEM FOR PLAYSTATION®2)
What is the Network Adaptor?
The Network Adaptor is a small device that provides online connectivity for the PlayStation®2.

What are the Network Adaptor specifications?
It offers both broadband and dial-up connectivity, featuring a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet capability combined with a V.90 ****og modem.

What is included with the Network Adaptor?
* A start-Up disc with an installation video, ISP connectivity setup, product registration and game demos.
* A mail-in offer for a FREE (yes, free!) copy of
Twisted Metal:Black ONLINE (offer expires 12/31/02)
* A hardware and software manual.

What do I need to connect?
A PlayStation®2, network adaptor, Memory Card (8MB) (for PlayStation®2) with at least 137kb of free space, a type of Internet connection (like DSL, cable modem, or a plain ol' phone line) and the Start-Up Disc.

Which ISPs will it support?
The Network Adaptor works with just about any ISP, including AOL, AT&T Worldnet, Earthlink, Prodigy/SBC and Sympatico. Check with your ISP for details.

How is the Network Adaptor installed?
The Network Adaptor easily connects to the PlayStation®2 system by lining up the Network Adaptor connectors to the Expansion Bay located at the rear of the system. Gently tighten the two mounting screws using a coin, and you're on your way!

Do I need to use the Start-Up Disc every time I want to play an online game?
No. Once the Start-Up Disc is installed, the ISP settings are saved on the Memory Card (8MB for PlayStation®2) and all that is needed is a network enabled game to play online, or use the demos that are on the Start-Up Disc.

Which software titles will be compatible with the Network Adaptor?
These are just a few of the games with online capabilities this year:

ATV Offroad Fury™ 2
AutoModellista™
Frequency™
Madden NFL™2003
My Street™
NFL GameDay™2003
SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs
Tony Hawk Pro Skater™4
Tribes™Aerial Assault
Twisted Metal:Black™ONLINE

Default How modchips boot ps2 games simplified

Ps2 CD-rs

To play CD-rs the neo key, 2, 2.2, 2.5 does the same procedure

1. insert gs to fool ps2 you have original game
2. inject scea signal when PS2 backup is inserted

The no solder and knifeswap
1. insert gs to fool ps2 you have original game uses that gs info to boot
need scea signal to handle dvd rips

To play dvd-rs the neo 2, 2.2, 2.5, knife swap, and the no solder mod does the exact same procedure

Which is

1. insert gs to fool ps2 you have original game
2. insert original dvd to fool ps2 you have an original dvd game with that TOC
3. The last swap prevent the ps2 from ever thinking the door has opened

neo 2 2.2 and 2.5
when you let go of reset chip by-passes the normal route of the signal so
it never reaches the correct part on the motherboard and send the open and close signal back to the tray
(the 3 chips also send scea signal but not necessary for dvd-r's step 2
takes care of that)

neo 2 and 2.2
wires 3,5 &6

no solder (r-mod) and neo 2.5
The extra ribbon cable

Knife swap
The physical action of the knife
