When in DOS you'll have to use the truncated method!! DOS only allows 8 prefix and 3 suffix e.g. mydocuments becomes mydocu~1 - if you do a dir listing at each folder level you'll see the structure and then work out the way to go.

Only format as a last resort do as kasimir says.

I tried as suggested. I cant' get past C:\Documents and Settings\NAME\ as Local Settings is a hidden folder & is not displayed in DOS. Any more ideas ? Formatting is not an option! Thanks again Kasimir

Are you using real dos or dos promt, if its dos prompt your using try in real mode.
