The trojan your infected with could be any of the number of trojans not just sub 7 the majority of trojans allow remote access to your computer or the ability to interact with the user of the machine in some way i.e type messages open your cd rom etc.
Oh and dont format your hd let me know which trojan your infected with and I or someone else from the board will advise you on how to remove it, your anti virus should have identified it so if you didnt make note of the name check your logs or re scan.

This does sound like subseven..... right very simple cure to the problem, download moosoft and do a scan! This will get rid of the trojan!

Secondly get a firewall, go for zonealarm i say!

Then thats about it!

Also if you wouldnt mind could you tell me a bit more about what is going on, how are you recieving files etc....
