smokey: Newsgroups are not found on web pages. You need to input that news server address into a news reader program like Agent (the one used in the tutorial)

Hi,
I think your best bet is to try news groups you should have some available through your isp. But if not try edonkey. Download it from:

www.edonkey2000.com

I dont think news server are as easy as some people say, I always have something missing and people in newsgroups often seem very unhelpful and a kind of Tim from Big Brother attitude On a tip from someone on this list I now use Filetopia which is very friendly, easy and can recommend the FBO channel...

For those of you looking for your news server address: PICK UP THE PHONE! Just ask your ISP what it is, they're the one's who will know. Learning to download from newsgroups took me a few hours of fumbiling around to get the hang of it, however, the following page explains everything in 10 min, it seems pretty idiot proof to me:
