Default DVD to AVI

sponsored links

Can someone recommend a program that will take a DVD and rip it to an AVI file that will fit on a CD. I have downloaded alot off the internet and the quality is better than a VCD. I want to take a DVD, and make it into one big avi file that will fit on a normal CDR. How is this done? Is it hard?

I use virtual dub, with AVISynth to frame serve, It is not that hard, but the better you get at it, the better quality your rips.

I would suggest that you have a look at the guides at ***********.doom9.org

It's a long process if you don't have a fast CPU but it's not hard at all. It's a bit harder if you want to mess with two-pass encoding and all that. But if you're doing a simple one-pass with mp3 audio, it's very easy.
Take a look at www.divx-digest.com for guides.

Theres a program called Easy divX it's really easy and it works most of the time. If it doesn't you have to go the long way around try CladDvd XP with frame serving built in and Virtual Dub to encode to avi.

Thats one thing I was unclear of..... I thought most AVI files were suppose to be extremely large in size yet the ones I download are small enough to fit on a CD yet Extremely high quality....does this mean there encoded in DIVX?
