It may beat the messiah on price but it certainly won't beat it on performance, as long as I can I'll be installing messiah's rather than any clone as they're proven trouble free.

New PS2 no swap Magic Chip 2 for all V5 3000x-R models (USA/PAL/JAP)
Wed Jun 19 2002 19:30:23 Hong Kong Time - PlayStation2

We just received samples of a new and very interesting PlayStation2 modchip from a so far unknown third party manufacturer. The PS2 Magic Chip 2 promises to play all games (PS&PS2 imports and backups (CDr, DVDr, HK silvers)) without swap as well as without the need of any Action Replay2 or Gameshark2.
The good news as well is that this chip is supposed to be compatible with all V5 3000x-R (USA/PAL/JAP) models, which makes it the first ever no swap modchip for any V5 US or Japanese console.

We are testing this chip at present and delivery will start once satisfactory has been reached. Please subscribe to our product alert to stay informed once this chip becomes available. The anticipated retail price for this chip is around US$ 89 and requires soldering of 23 wires (just as the Messiah chip).

For further discussion about this or any other PS2 modchip, please feel free to head over to our modchip related forum at www.ps2modchips.com.

i just read this and wanted to post it on the board first, you frigga's beat me

man that's weak, another messiah clone that costs $89, I will just keep my Neo2.2 for longer now, I thought this one may be reasonably priced.
