Yup with anything onboard windows cant install the drivers you need your mobo disk

yous were right about the mobo disc for the colurs (how the hell i never sussed that saying the cd was right in front of me DOH!)
So thnx alot
still a no no for xp tho
if i skip the shell dll error i get other dll errors as well although it passes the compatability test
guess she will have to stick with ME

If you are getting error messages such as " can't find file" you could have a faulty stick of ram.

I only found this out last week after nearly throwing a computer through a window. Installed XP, ME and 98se giving different errors each time. Changed the ram and "hey presto" computer happy again.

Just a thought.
