i had that prob a few months ago, burn times really slow brought a lite on 32x burn at 16x and now have a nice and fast burn times on the fly no prob now

Yeah same here....fine burning on the fly both on the same ide, untill i got a faster writer. then burning on the fly was taking almost twice as long.
Switched one drive over and hey presto .....even faster than before.

I would suggest having both on seperate Ide channels.

I can now copy @ 40x on the fly thanks to my LiteOn DVD drive, which can handle the transfer rate.

it is recommended to have them on diffent ide cables as the transfer rate will be better ans constant
better still do read then write

I had a reader on the primary that was supposed to read at 52x,thing is it only read Audio at 14x so i was getting underuns to the writer on the secondary.Bought a second writer and put it on the secondary along with the other writer,one set as master one as slave, write on the fly 40x no probs now,junked the reader.
