Toofan sorry if my post above sounded a bit nasty! it wasnt supposed to, i was just trying to point out the times i stated were near enough correct, reading over it i can easily see how it could be taken another way, no offence meant mate.

I have never heard of a disk taking that long to burn, it certainly isnt normal, one thing i can think of is are you running other tasks at the same time? It could be a buffer underun were the disk temporarily stops writing as it can't read the information fast enough.

A lot of stopping and starting would still create a working disk but it would lenghthen the writing time by quite a bit, maybee something to check.

what bearato means is the pioneer DVR-104 aka dvr-a04 only writes to dvd-rw's at 1x. below are the writing and read specs of the drive

Write Speed

DVD-R: 2X CLV, 1x CLV
DVD-RW: 1X CLV
CD-R: 8X CLV, 4X CLV
CD-RW: 4X CLV

Read Speed

DVD-ROM (Single): 6X CAV
DVD-ROM (Dual): 2X CLV
DVD-R, DVD-RW: 2X CLV
CD-ROM: 24X CAV
CD-R, CD-RW: 24X CAV
CD-Audio: 10X CAV
Video-CD: 4X CLV

I started to burn Bruce Lee again last night before I went to bed. When I woke up (7 hours later) the burning was 86% complete. What is the px update?

OMG 7 hours? What the hell? What software are you using? Post your PC specifications, and any other relevant info...OS, etc...

I am using primodvd-rw with the pioneer 104 drive under windows xp. I have a p4 256ram. I have tried restore. I have tried everything and I am still having problems.
