Try what duffy has said, I would sure re-set the BIOS as a first step though (Clear CMOS) before updating the BIOS. I have 2 K7S5A systems running on test as we speak and out of interest ran SiSoft Sandra on both and am getting a 45 degree reading on one and a 46 on the other. (1800, 1900 xp+)

I think if it's running a lot hotter than that then send the board back.

Is it essential for a CPU unit to have a cd drive installed in order to start up?
My computer is not starting up when I push the start button. It doesn't have any CD(/DVD) drives. Is it essential for a CPU unit to have a cd drive installed in order to start up?
