Default Magic Chip 2 + V4 1C

I was just reading a review done on it, at ps2ownz and apparently the Version 4 Date Code 1C is compatible with the new chip. Has anyone tried it out yet? I have the 1C and want to get it chipped badly.

It should be compatible as long as you have the 040 BIOS. All true V5 models have the 040 BIOS and the Magic 2 works great in it!
