Sorry 'bout linking to another forum mods, oh yeah...here are the instructions:

-=:] GET ALL TYPES/BRANDS OF CDR’S TO WORK ON YOUR XBOX [:=-

Discovered By: Mark of Precisionmods A.K.A gAm3 Fr3aQu3 on Wed.08.07.02

Requirements:
01.Goldenhawk’s CD-Rwin 4.0 or Higher [4.0 Recommended]
02.Fire Burner v1.06 [Recommended]
03.CD-R/CD-RW or DVD-R/DVD-RW Drive [Recommended]
04.DVD/CD-Rom Drive
05.Blank CD-R’s [of course]
06.Modified XBOX

Step 1:
Place the CD-RW backup in your CD/DVD-Rom Drive. Launch CD-Rwin. Click on Extract Disc/Tracks/Sectors [3rd Icon from the left].

Step 2:
Select “Disc Image/Cuesheet” for Extract Mode. Under File Name, select a place where you want to save your image. Under Reading Options, leave “RAW” and “CD-Text” checked. Select “Ignore” under Error Recovery. For Jitter Correction and Subcode ****ysis, just leave it on “Auto”. For Data Speed, Audio Speed, Read Retry Count, and Subcode Threshold, just leave it as it is. Save the settings by clicking on “Save Settings”. Now Click Start. CD-Rwin should now be creating a Game-Name.BIN and a Game-Name.CUE

Step 3:
After the 2 files have been created, launch Fire Burner v1.06. Click on Visual CUE Burner/Binchunker. Inside the Fire Burner v1.06 window, right click and select Load Tracks from *.CUE. Find your Game-Name.CUE and open it. Now right click again and select Burn/Test Burn. Select your Recording Device and Writing Speed [I use 4x]. Recording Method should be at Disk at Once [DAO] aka “RAW”. Check “Eject CD” and “Close Session”. Everything else should be left unchecked. Now click OK. Your Xbox CD-R backup should now be recording.

Step 4:
Once finished, put the Xbox CD-R backup in your Xbox and have some fun! ^_^

-=:]FOR AUDIO CD[:=-

Requirements:
01.Fire Burner v1.06 [Recommended]
02.CD-R/CD-RW or DVD-R/DVD-RW Drive [Recommended]
03.Blank CD-R’s [of course]

Step 1:
Launch Fire Burner v1.06. Click on Visual CUE Burner/Binchunker. Inside the Fire Burner v1.06 window, Drag ‘N Drop your .mp3’s or .wav’s. Now right click and select Burn/Test Burn. Select your Recording Device and Writing Speed [I use 4x]. Recording Method should be at Disk at Once [DAO] aka “RAW”. Check “Eject CD” and “Close Session”. Everything else should be left unchecked. Now click OK. Your Audio CD should now be recording.

Step 2:
Your Audio CD Pops out. Put it in your XBOX , listen, rip, and enjoy your Audio CD!

*NOTE* The Audio CD Method had been tested only once and it worked...

I still dont get how this could make a diff?? is'nt the ability for a device to read a piece of media based on the dvdrom laser component? I know burning Apps and burners themselves can make a diff to a certain degree, but i dont see how it could make the process fool proof? are you saying that i could take a piece of media that my unit just cant read, use the method above and it would start working? Doesnt seem logical to me...but who knows...

I was like that, too, when I first did this... But when experimented on different types of medias, it actually works.
