There is free php hosting, but you will also need database access. There will still be free hosts. But to get good ones you need to pay a little money.

I know there is dingojunction for ASP, but they really dont come very highly recommended, for about 10 pound a year. There is another one for php that is 10 pound or so a year. I could find it out for you it you are intrested.

I personally use 34sp. I wrote my own forum software for my site in CGI using Perl. I run it mainly on another site that is quite popular so I dont want to post it, but I did adapt it for my own website doesnt look as good there though, ***********.rmartin.34sp.com

I did it this way to have complete freedom in what it does and how it looks. Also so I didnt have to run it off a database. If you know how, I would recommend writing your own.

Hi Bobrocks, thanks for your reply.

Unfortuanatel, I won't be able to write my own forum, (Absolutely NO experience in programming! )

Please can you give me some more info on these free php and database access webhosts. Much appreciate it!

I will, once I have some money, get a proper domain name, webhost and all that. (But that will probably be after my exams.

Thanks for your help,

Cheers

Hi m8,

I have registered on a site, (Tripod if that makes any difference!).

Anyway, They say you get the following: -

50MB disk space
Cool add-ons
Website stats
PHP4U/MySQL

I think the last two things: - PHP4U and MYSQL what are need.

Please can someone confirm this? and also where can I get a forum for my webpage now? (Can I have a look at the above?)

Thanks in advance!!!
