that's what I thought, oh well, guess I'll just have to wait till the game is out in the usa, or fade is cracked, later -fatboy

I don't think this one has fade protection. Lots of people been playing it without problems - I wonder if it isn't a patching/format issue? Surely it would have been nuked by now if it was a bad rip.

Perhaps some of our PAL friends can give us their take on things?

I don't think its long until the US version is out anyways.

btw, for the V8 issue, I think only the Australian version of the game includes these tracks. They are locked on the standard PAL version, even of the DVD. I'm not sure about the original PAL TOCA.

Here is the exerpt from the Paradox nfo;

NOTE: This is release has the same exact filesizes that TOCA and DTM games but Codemasters locked the au circuits somehow so this release is the only way to play with the V8 circuits, cars and pilots as well as play in the V8 championship.

i've got the teg-psx rip of toca race driver and it plays fine on my PAL ps2, i've not played it enough to notice the fade protection but the speed is fine.

the speed problem may be caused by the pal/ntsc fix
