Default DVD drive DMA settings under Win 2K

sponsored links

Can someone help by telling me how to change DMA settings under Win 2K for the DVD drive? Mine is reading too slow with smartripper and I've read here that it could be a DMA related problem. Thanks

It should be turned on automatically, but is possible to have been turned off. Delete the IDE controller that the drive is on in the device manager, reboot, and let windows find it again. That is the easy way.........

There is no need to do that in win 2k, i had the same problem last week.

Just goto the the ide controller the drive is on and change PIO to DMA and reboot.

Do as above but you don't have to reboot . Make sure you are not using UDMA 100 leads (80 wire) as there is a documented fault with these and DVD-roms and XP
