Default How do I play NTSC games on my PAL PS2

sponsored links

First of all excuse my ignorance I know nought about PS2s .
My son has an unchipped PS2 with lots of original PAL games .
A friend has brought back loadsa NTSC games from the states for him .
Is there any other way other than getting the machine chipped to play these games ?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated .
Cheers
Stephen .

I'm presuming that the games brought back are copies!?!?!

Yes you can get the PS2 chipped to play copies, Messiah chip is the best.

What version PS2 do you have? ( on the back of the machine.. SCPH XXXXX where X is a number.. )

Or you can put 'black' in the search this forum box cause it brings up this sort of thing usually.

As far as I know, the only way to do it is by putting either a Messiah or Origa (or clones of either of these chips) in the PS2. There may be some kind of boot disc by Datel or Interact, but I do not know of any, and I do not think that there is one either.
So if you are wanting something reliable and noswap, get an origa or messiah, go ahead and get a messiah while you are getting an import chip.
