Question Help password on my laptop

Hi!
I Have a password on my laptop when it boots up any idea on how to change it or get rid of it, because I want to sell it.
Know it is my but my son put it on and he can not remember it,can someone save his bacon.
I do not know if this is the right area to look

It would be the CMOS or Bios of the computer. This would mean that anyone turning on your computer would have to enter a password before being able to access the Bios or before the software for the system would load. There is usually a jumper on the motherboard that will allow you to clear the password.

Did you bump your post with a different ID?

Couldnt u just delte the .pwl file and have it ask for a password again when it boots the next time? Or is it different on laptops?

or try software can be used to either crack or reset the BIOS on many chipsets. If your PC is locked with a BIOS administrator password this will not allow u to access to the floppy drive. use it cautiously at your own risk.
