The drive does 94bytes of subcode... However subchannel data has nothing to do with SD2.. I have made many sucessfull backups without even reading any of the subchannel data.

The issue is with it's ability to write EFM encoding or regular bit patterns (weak sectors) or whatever.

AWS (Amplify Weak Sectors) is a Clone CD setting for writing which helps in creating 1:1 SD2 copies with problem drives.

TY, yea, I have tried using aws, in cloneCD and blindwrite with no luck. Also, if the drive does support 94 bytes, then why does cloneCD come up with that error that it cant write it, or is it because that cloneCD doesnt support 94 bits, only 96?

Well there ise RAW DAO 96 mode and RAW DAO 16 mode, the drive would write in RAW DAO 16, which is fine for OLD securom, but not protected PSX which require the full 96.

if you want to use clone for backing up games you will need to stick to some basic principles, which are read the disc with a dvd rom liteon and toshiba and then write it with a liteon in all cases or a plextor in some cases.the plextors dont support full efm encoding.this principle is known as do your home work before you buy readers and writers and you will save time and money by buying the correct gear at stage one
