quote from above thread:

1.32 is nothing more than the 1.30 Firmware (remember the CMC and Ritek Media was missing from that as well.

The 1.32 does NOT fix the 4X media problem, this was done in 1.30, the problem has been the CMCand Ritek media, hence, it has been removed

I hope pasting that thread is ok??

Default A04 Firmware update MESSED ME UP

Leave well enough alone, people. I was happily enjoying the use of $1/disk generic silver DVDR's, which burned fine in my Pioneer A04. Earlier today, I successfully updated the firmware to 1.32.

Now the generic DVDR's are NO LONGER RECOGNIZED by the drive. When I click on the drive in My Computer, with a blank disk in the drive, it says "Not accessible. Incorrect function."

It still reads CDR's and a white-topped DVDR backup of Max Payne, but it also failed to read a PIONEER DVD-RW disk with something recorded on it.

Once again, I wish I would have left the working drive ALONE. Going to call Pioneer tomorrow, pissed off as hell.

hi djpipw, could you send me a link for downgrading the A03. I just tried using White Label 2x media with RoecordNow Max and it spat it out complaining of an error. Can you help me out please..
