Not sure what's up.. First off, high quality VCD is a bit of an oxymoron. VCD just doesn't get that high in quality.. All high-quality stuff I have (mostly DVD Rips) are in SVCD format, which Gyplay unfortunately doesn't play. I'm wondering if you are using a standard MPEG1 / VCD format, or if you've tweaked your settings. I have a lot of anime and TV shows in VCD format, which I've used with Gyplay with pretty good success. I've also used the VCD boot disc (the Xin-Hong player) and it is extremely blocky and jerky.. while Gyplay seems to play VCD at about 95% perfect.. as compared to my Apex DVD player.

The same mpeg on a pioneer VCD player looks very good - gyplay blows with the same mpeg stream. Haven't tweaked anything, coded using tmpgenc using the vcd template, didn't fiddle with anything. By high quality l meant no pixellation and colours/sync perfect without any jerkiness and nice resolution - gyplay seems to make it very blocky especially on darker scenes. l've tried a few different movies now and all the same result. Twas merely an experiment - gyplay is good but in my experience it does not output as well as a standalone VCD player. My two cents, sh ts all over the other vcd player though!!
