Unhappy Burning Speed Problem pls Help... [; ; win98SE]

sponsored links

Hi,
I've encountered some burning problems and need your help please. I'll list all the things I can remember now as my system statement.

I have two computers:

Computer A

Windows ME
PIII 500 CPU
128 MB RAM
20 GB Seagate HDD
15 GB Quantum HDD
24*10*40 LG CD-RW
24*10*40 LG CD-RW
Nero 5.5.5.1 as Burning Software
HDDs are Primary Master and slave and CD-RWs are Secondary Master and Slave

Computer B

Windows 98 SE
PIII 1300 Celeron CPU
384 MB RAM
20 GB Quantum HDD
20 GB Quantum HDD
40*12*40 LG CD-RW
40*12*40 LG CD-RW
Nero 5.5.8.2 as Burning Software
HDDs are Primary Master and slave and CD-RWs are Secondary Master and Slave

My problem is: I'm using Multiple Recorders to burn CDs. I have absoultely NO problem with Computer A and can burn CDs with Multiple Recorders in about 3-3,5 minutes (500-600 MB Data at 24x Speed)
But on the other computer, the fastest burning I could do is 7-8 minutes by chance, because normally it burns CDs with Multiple Recorders in about 10-12 minutes (500-600MB Data at 24x, 32x and 40x)

Please help me with this problem. My Computer B seems to be better than Computer A but if we look at their performance Computer B is awful.

If any specs are missing, please let me know and I'll post them immediately to help you help me

Thank you.

Also, some more info in case you may need:
I'm burning CDs from images that are stored in my HDDs (on both computers)

Another symptom:
The "WRITE" leds of CD-RWs of Computer A (which works fine) always blink at the same time, while the "WRITE" leds of CD-RWs of Computer B (which has problem) do not blink at the same time. I mean the CD-RWs of Computer B don't work simultaneously.

Can't believe that noone could even give a clue. But I think I found mine. It might be something about the buffer values of those 2 different types of writers. 24x LG has 8MB buffer on it while 40x has only 2MB. I'm writing this just in case it may help someone else. Dunno how to solve the problem but at least I know more than yesterday now. Will report back.
