Works for me...I even asked the installer if it's "theoretically possible" LOL...of course, he said yes.

Most installers dont give a ****, they dont even work for the cable company, they are sub contractors, just give em money.

Adelphia Cable (outside of Pittsburgh, PA) charges a customer extra if they have the cable modem only (about 20 bucks more a month) than if they had "basic cable" and a cable modem.

can anyone explain how this can be done?

I have Cox also, only the cable broadband, not cable TV and would like to do this.
