Default How do I use the USB modchip to work on USB port 2?

sponsored links

My USB mod chip won't work on the top USB slot on my PS2. I am wondering if there is a wiring diagram to show how to use the USB modchip for the 2nd (bottom) USB port on my PS2? PLEASE send me an e-mail: utsu@satx.rr.com

Thanks!!!

You have to use the smd (surface mount device) immediately next to the original diagram.

I cant remeber if its the top or bottom of the device

You have 2 options

1. Try soldering to both the top and bottom of the usb point on the SMD next to the original one and see if it works

or the one garanteed to save you time and effort

2. Equipment
Old USB Cable
Multimeter

Take a usb cable and cut it in half expose some of the wire on the green cable That is the data + cable

Then plug the usb cable into the usb port you want to use

Take a multimeter set it up to test continuity and connect one end to the wire exposed on the green line of the usb cable and stick the other on the smd's near the original usb connection point.

When you hear a beep (or the resistance pegs at "0") then that means it has has a connection

Then feel free to solder away on that point and it will work

OP didn't give much info. We would need to know the version PS2 first. Seems to me theydidnt give their boot procedure either. There is a long list of info we would need to know

Handyguy is right even if you did wire it in the other port you might get the same results.

I just read the whole post I thought you just want instructions on how to wire it into the other port so I just gave that info but we might be able to help you without turning on that soldering iron again

Give us PS2 version and which gameshark and boot procedure

Your neo key might be bad or the solder might be messed up also

Did you solder on the top instead of the ends?
