I'm afraid 6 hours of 720x576 video in 4,38 GB (1.5 mbps) are just garbage.

I have a pana and you do not get 720x576.
Also the 6 hour mode is nowhere near SVCD at best it's an average VCD. 1,2,4 hour mode is very acceptable but still not 720x576.

I must say that the first time you have a go at doing a 2 movie dvd-r with 5.1 sound it seems the most complicated process ever but after a few goes it becomes a doddle.

I am actually surprised there aren't more people doing the multi's on the board, generally closely guarded secrets don't stay that way for long.

i ripped the one the other day by the time every thing was took out menus etc and i rencoded it it was 2gig in size!!! hence being able to fit another film on same disc!!!!!

at the end of the day if your rencoding the film down , or using panosonic or philips and putting it onto long play the quality drops .
so it ain't dvd.

Well it may not be DVD by your definition but Realdivx's multi dvds look ( and sound ) as good as any dvd i've seen.

On a similar point, I've read that R2 Dvds are downsampled compared to the R1 version because they have to fit more languages on in Europe. Anybody know if thats true?
