ohhh... maybe it will work then. Mine never did anything at all when I held the eject button. I've put a no-solder chip into a v4 machine, and it worked just how they describe it. The light turned orange and the tray opened and closed.

Alright,... I've got abit of an update for you reyman. Last night I put the no-solder mod into a v5 machine and it worked like a charm. This was the same one I tried putting into a v7 ps2. The light changed to orange and everything. This leads me to believe that it definately doesn't work with the v7 machines.

Thanks for lettin me know rastaman, I don't think it will work either, but I hope it will, if it doesn't i'll try to sell it and the swap disks and get back most of the money I spent on them, but this guy I ordered the dvdr game from like 3 weeks almost is not giving me an update on whats happening, I emailed him like 4-5 times already asking what is going on and i'm waiting for a reply, he emailed me once and said he has to check his posting or something like that and never emailed me back. I'm looking out my window like every day for the mailman to see if I get any package from that guy.

If you bought from a Trader in our BST forums and that person is not responding to you then list a dispute here: ***********.cdrom-guide.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=37
If they still fail to respond they can be suspended or banned from the Forum - a good incentive to fix the dispute with you.

yeah... same here, but fortunately I found someone with a v5 to take it off of my hands

I'm pretty sure that I've read that people have been able to get them to work in the v7 though. I think I had read (just recently) that you plug it into the two plugs that are on the same side of the board. But that's exactly what I did (I also checked to make sure the plugs 'lined up' with the ribbon connectors) and it still didn't work. Oh well... not my problem anymore
