i no this dosnt awnser the Q,but could you tell us either by box serial /no/date,etc

etc you can tell the diff between ver 1&2 stusy,thanks!

Right the new ones are package differently for a start.
and is date code:-

2002 - 08 - 14

Also have no seperate controller PCB and use a philips Rom drive.

The white ploystreyne in the old packaging was, if you can imagine at top and bottom of the X-box, now its either side. It also has a cardboard insert.

the main noticeable diffrence is the box itself .The v2s come in a shiney black finish and the v1 come in a matt black finish.
