XBox Game Selector with emualtor Problems

Can someone help me compile xsnesx with mame x on the game selctor. I cannot get it to work right,

i had a good tutorial on the forums. http://www.cdrom-guide.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=148963&highlight=jbninj a99. it was specifically for gameselector. i have never attempted to do it with emulators/roms, but i don't see how different it could be. give it a shot and let me know if it works.
