Help!!! I think SplinterCell fried my xbox

i stupidly pressed download online, in the Splinter Cell menu screen. the system still plays backups and original games but will not go to the ms dashboard no matter what the heck i do. what can i do? did i fry my chip even though games both original and backups still work? is there any way to fix this? what if i install that new evolution dashbaord (i am not sure what the heck i am talking about) please! any help would be greatly appreciated! ~sal~

i have no experience myself with this, but from what i read, splinter cell loads xbox live if you hit the button to do so, and what it does is replace the xboxdash with the new live one... people with this problem said it was fixed easily by using xboxxplorer. i dont know the routine with it, but i'd guess that you remove the newly installed live dash, and just put the original back. thats probably why it wont load the original dash, its not there anymore
