sponsored links

I just installed a magic 2 mod into my V7 PS2 and it won't boot PSone games...why? It boots PS2 dvd-r's and cd-r's just fine but doesn't work w/ PSone games. Anyone know what's wrong here? thanks

I know that a PAL Version7 chipped with the Magic 2 WON'T boot any PSX games from a different region. i.e. It will only boot PAL games on a PAL machine so no Jap or American PSX back-ups will work.

Might be the same thing for a American machine with the V7 Magic2 chip..

BUT, if NO PSX game works then check the SCEX point mate.

Its one of the solder points mate. If you look on a mod-chip install diagram for the Magic2 chip you'll notice one labelled S. This is the SCEX point. Basically this point injects the PSX code into the PS2 to accept your back-up. If this point isn't connected then PSX back-ups will not boot..

All solder points are A1, but I still can't get the PSx games to boot. I even re-soldered the S point. I don't know what's wrong
